We LOVE OKW! We've only been once but right now its actually my favorite resort. On top of the chill theming, I think the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed because the Guests are mostly DVC Members. Everyone goes to WDW a lot so there's not that FOMO rush. The villas are beautiful and the size alone would have me go back again. I read somewhere that the resort was designed to give almost every room a water view. Our view was stunning. We used the mobile order for Oliva's and ate at "home" watching the ducks play outside. We also really loved having a quiet pool right next to our building, and the proximity of the bus stop. There's still a few resorts I'd like to try, BUT, if I had to pick one resort to stay at for the rest of my trips, it would be OKW.

We LOVE OKW❤❤ We loved it so much , OKW became our second DVC home resort, after Grand Floridian and before Copper Creek, our two other home resorts. OKW is sooo relaxing! Great island vibe

It's where we spent our honeymoon, so it has a special place in our hearts. Love the pool, love being that close to Epcot and we even did the walk to the Studios from it. Greatest pool, nice lobby. But, we never have been able to snag a DVC room yet at 7 months and of course the smell of Cape May Cafe is just horrible.
Hi guys! Sorry it took so long for us to reply - We're preparing for Hurricane Ian here in Vero Beach. What a great place to spend your honeymoon! Studio's are so difficult to book at 7 months, we splurged and stayed in a 1BRV which has a bit more availability. Have a great week ahead!

Definitely stay at the BC! The location is amazing, especially if you love the Epcot Festivals! We'd love to stay more often, but the DVC Villas are very difficult to book if it's not your home resort. Thank you for watching Dawn!! ~ Trace & Kristie

You know i have to say we love visiting. The walk from Disney Springs is very nice. We walk over and get a bite to eat and walk around the resort. The decor is very nice as well. We also love the pool. Just subscribed friends!
OKW is one of our home resorts and it's so beautiful and relaxing! We've never made the walk to our from DS, but we love the boats! Thank you so much for subscribing - we love meeting more Disney Friends!

Such an excellent Disney Resort video. The camera work & editing is top notch - I often get a little 'seasick' when vloggers have shaky vidoes or fast, sweeping shots. I really appreciate that you included the history of Old Key West and some facts about this lovely resort. I must admit, I am very disappointed when a Disney vlogger doesn't do the proper research before posting a video and posts wrong information that they don't correct in post-production. You had none of those issues, even your narration script was well-written. Great job all around! 👍 My first DVC stay was at the Old Key West and I fell in love with the place. We are going back in a little over a month and I have shared your video with my travel partner because I am hoping that he loves OKW as much as I do. Thank you for this informative and fun video. Our ownership is at AKL and BLT, but we're excited to be coming to OKW in 53 days! It will be our first stay at OKW. We have a 2 BR villa, and wondering if you have any recommendations on room requests (which I know are not guaranteed). I'd like to be near close to the hospitality house if possible, just don't know what to ask for. Any advice?
You will love OKW! There is a special booking category option for being near the hospitality house, so make sure you choose this when you make your DVC reservation or you can also try sending a fax to the resort with that request. We usually send a fax on the Monday of the week before our stay with room request and had very good luck. The Millers Road area is pretty close to the HH and that's our favorite area. If you are unable to book HH rooms bld 23-29 are good options as they will utilize Pennicular Rd bus stop which is first on/off for thr parks but NOT for Disney Springs. These bldg are also a super quick walk to HH which we didn't mind at all. A bit of a tip: if you want a second entrance to the master bathroom so people don't have to go through master bedroom building 30 and up have a door to the bathroom from the laundry room. This is helpful for anyone sleeping on the pull outs in the front room.

We're going to be staying in a one bedroom villa on one of our upcoming trips, so we'll utilize the building 30 and up tip! Thank you!
@@ruflippingkiddingme I always try to stay in bldgs 23-29. I like the short walk over the bridge to the hospitality house. Close to a bus stop. Overlooking the golf course or the lake. I did not know that bldgs 30 and up have a second entrance to the master bath. This is very useful information. Thank you for sharing! 😄
I am getting older - and I just love SSR and OKW - the fact that I am that close to Springs is fantastic - instead of Springs being an afterthought in the trip, it becomes a big part of the stay. The rooms are fantastic, and I love how it really feels like your home with all the apartment-like complexes. While the staff is great at all the DVC resorts, I found everyone to be especially friendly and engaging, plus had a blast doing trivia in the pool.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I agree with everything dixielandfarm said. Staying at OKW or SSR feels like you are not staying in a hotel, but enjoying life in a polite, happy, Disney-loving community. There is just nothing else like it!
I went in 2014 and stayed at pop century it was great we had the buses but I also went on the boat from hoop di doo back to magic kingdom and went on the monorail can’t wait to go back and try the skyliner from pop century
Pop Century is a great place to stay! Having the Skyliner as an additional transportation option now makes that and AofA the best value resorts! Did you like the Hoop Dee Doo Review? That chicken is amazing! Thank you for commenting Cameron!

Thank you for commenting guys! I think the Boats and Skyliner are our favorites as well! We just love the River Boats when staying at OKW and SSR, such a fun way to get to the Springs! We're hoping to find the cup on one of our trips throughout the 50th - fingers crossed!

@@Scaloozy You will need to make a reservation for breakfast as well, since it's table service. You can also mobile order from Olivia's, if you want to take it back to your room. You don't need a reservation for mobile ordering! Make sure you try the French Toast!

Thanks guys! The only time we'd be a little hesitant to ride would be in the summer months during the middle of the day. If there is a stoppage during that time, it could get pretty hot and sticky quickly in the Florida heat and humidity! Plus I wouldn't want to be stuck during the afternoon storms! As time goes on, I think you'll see the Skyliner is a very safe and reliable form of transportation. Merry Christmas from the Mouse Streeters!

If you give priority to hotel guests how far are you goung to carry that? Wilderness Lodge has some very popular restaurants that people come from Magic Kingdom on the boat to enjoy. Are you going to make them wait for all Wilderness Lodge guests, especially given that is a deluxe resort and much more money? If not than you cannot segregate hotel guests and nonguests on the Skyliner. Same with the monorail. Free transportation is just that. Everyone enjoys everything.

The response from cast members who have rode the Skyliner have been positive in regards to comfort from the heat! Have fun on opening day!
It seems like the first phase of the Skyliner is set up geographically for easy expansion, which would assist in the efficient movement of guest. As the property continues to expand that is going to be an ongoing issue. Great video!

I was wondering about Disney hotel guest priority.I can just see the complications if an EPCOT / Hollywood studios day guest just wants to go for a ride to kill some time.Worse yet, annual pass holders looking for the ride only and do a full circle just to see what the ride is all about?Maybe Disney needs to prioritize so guests staying in their hotels get access over day guests.

Great video! I like how you handled the Transfer requirements by adding that if you are at the Caribbean Beach Resort you won't need to transfer, a point that even I had not considered. I'd like to clarify a few bits of information: The 3 Terminals at Pop Century/Art Of Animation, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot, as well as the 3 terminals at the Caribbean Beach station all have a Secondary Loading Area where gondolas for guests in wheelchairs or riding scooters can board a stopped gondola without causing the rest of the line from stopping. Oh, and Dopplemayr is pronounced "Dopple Mayor."

I use to be employed in Sky Lift Operations at a large resort, so I was lucky to work on Doppelmayr Garaventa systems for many years!
